Corrections Log
Key takeaway: When a published figure or a factual claim on this site is wrong, we fix the page and record the change here. This log is the accountability record. It does not require a named author.
See an error? Contact us with the page URL and the source you believe is correct. We check the source, update the page (the modified date changes), and add a row below when the change is material: a number, a dataset vintage, a school included or dropped in error, or a claim that could mislead someone choosing a program or credential.
Copy edits, layout, and internal links do not belong here.

How a correction is handled
- We compare the report to the federal source named on the page (or to the certifying body’s published rule, for credential facts).
- If the page is wrong, we change it. Generated school pages are fixed in the generator and rebuilt, not edited by hand.
- The page
dateModifiedupdates. A row is added to this log with the date, the URL, what the page said, and what it says now. - We typically respond to the person who reported it within two business days.
Wage and school figures refresh when BLS or the Department of Education release new editions. Those refreshes are data updates, not corrections, unless the prior edition was applied incorrectly. The current vintages are on data sources.
See something out of date? Tell us and we will check the source and fix it. Material corrections are listed on the corrections log.
