Last updated: September 2, 2026
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
MedicalBillingPath.com, operated by Hot Key Media LLC, participates in affiliate programs and displays lead request forms for schools and education providers. When you submit a form, we may receive confirmation that a submission occurred for tracking and payment purposes, but we do not receive or store the personal details you entered. In addition, third-party services we use (for example, advertising, affiliate tracking, and hosting) may set cookies or collect identifiers. These activities can be deemed a “sale” or “sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising” under California law and “targeted advertising” under certain other state laws.
Nothing on this page overrides the full Privacy Policy.
How to Opt Out
Use any of the options below. Using more than one method can improve coverage across browsers and devices.
1) Browser and tracking controls
- Configure your browser to block third-party cookies, and clear site data to reset the first-party analytics identifier stored in local storage.
- We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where legally required. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid opt-out for that browser.
2) Email opt-out
Send a request to [email protected] with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” Include your name, the email address and phone number you used on our Site, and the state you reside in.
3) Affiliate and lead forms
If you submitted a school information request through a form displayed on our Site, please note:
- MedicalBillingPath.com does not directly collect, store, or process the personal information entered into these forms.
- The forms are hosted and operated by our affiliate partner or the school itself. Your submission is transmitted directly to them.
- We may receive confirmation that a form was submitted for tracking and payment purposes, but we do not have access to the personal details you entered.
- Because we do not hold your personal data from these submissions, we cannot fulfill access, deletion, or correction requests for it.
- To exercise your rights, submit requests directly to the school or partner organization that received your information. Their privacy policy governs how your information is used once submitted.
4) Device and platform settings
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track.”
- Android (Google): Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- Adjust interest-based ads on major platforms (Google, Microsoft, Meta) in your account settings.
Scope and Important Notes
- Children: We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
- Sensitive personal information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under California law. If this changes, we will provide a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” mechanism.
- State laws outside California: Where required (for example, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and Oregon), we offer opt-outs for targeted advertising and sales consistent with those laws. Use the methods above; we will apply them as required in your state.
- Nevada: Nevada residents may email [email protected] to opt out of the sale of covered information under Nevada SB 220.
- Browser and device specific: Cookie-based choices apply to the specific browser and device you use. Repeat these steps on each browser and device. Clearing cookies may remove your preferences.
- Third parties: When you click out to a school or partner site or submit a partner-hosted form, their privacy policies govern further use of your information. Submit requests directly to those entities as well.
Verification and Response
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization.
